My Journey by Gil Art
I’ve always enjoyed painting, with art having been my only enjoyable class at school.
Over the years I have painted children’s murals on walls and drawings, which was a hobby I enjoyed. I had always had the desire to paint with oils, but life took over and I never found the time to pursue it.
Living alone during lockdown I found myself feeling lost during the first few months and decided to explore how best to occupy my mind/help with my mental health, taking time to reflect on my passions/interests see this as the perfect opportunity to explore my desire to paint with oils.
It’s been an amazing journey over the past few years, hours upon hours, layer by layer, taking weeks, months to perfect. Going from hobby to a labour of love, my skills and methods have developed tremendously. resulting in a collection of original oil paintings.
I have a mixture of art that reflects “Through the darkness, shines the beauty of light and hope” inspired by the light that the beauty of art has brought me during dark times of lockdown, the hard times that have followed and reflection of life experiences.
